Conventional storm straps that lie above the tent can abrade the roof fabric. Sewn-on storm straps can take an unnecessary toll on the seam and fabric area. The storm kit secures the awning at the pole pin of the corner brackets, one of the most stable points of an awning. Heavy fabric belts and sturdy tent poles provide tension. An inserted steel spiral spring compensates rip and pulling forces that are caused by gusts of wind.
