The brass reinforcing sleeve serves to reliably stabilise thin-walled pipes or soft pipe materials such as copper pipes for installation with cutting ring fittings. Its use prevents the deformation or indentation of the pipe material – a prerequisite for a permanently tight connection.
When using cutting ring fittings with non-steel pipes, the use of a reinforcing sleeve is mandatory. Special attention should always be paid to using the appropriate sleeve, especially with copper or aluminium pipes: for aluminium pipes, a steel reinforcing sleeve is required!
Important: in Germany, the installation of copper pipes with reinforcing sleeves in liquefied gas systems is only permitted in the caravan and marine sectors.
