The mobile Winch Box 1.8 t from horntools is the perfect solution when a winch needs to be ready for use but no fixed installation on the vehicle is desired. In the sturdy box, the winch and accessories are compactly stored and protected from the weather – ideal for offroad, trailer use and heavy loading tasks.
Mobile winch use
For mobile use, the rear strap is wrapped around a tree or attached to a suitable anchor point. Then the two loops are fixed to the rear shackles of the portable base plate. Important: straps should not rub against sharp edges or come into contact with hot surfaces.
Mounting: 4 screws or 2 screws
The Winch Box can also be permanently mounted:
- Mounting with four screws: mounting via the four outer screw holes of the mounting plate. To withstand the tensile forces, the mounting plate should be at least 6 mm (¼ inch) thick and the base sufficiently load-bearing. In this option, the rope can be attached again to the front shackle for doubling.
- Mounting with two screws: set the winch to freewheel, unwind enough rope and – if not already done – place the steel reinforcement plate underneath. The same applies here: mounting plate at least 6 mm, mounting structure designed to be stable. After mounting and wiring, the rope is neatly wound up again by motor control.
Ideal for trailers, hunting and loading tasks
As a mobile winch for trailers and boat trailers, the Winch Box is particularly suitable because accessories and technology remain protected inside the box. It is also practical for hunting use: the compact solution fits into many boot spaces (e.g. Dacia Duster, Suzuki Jimny or Land Rover Defender) to pull game carefully to or into the vehicle. Likewise, equipment, crates or tools can be pulled onto the loading area – the 1.8 tonnes pulling force is designed for this.
